The fuel tank is insulated with Thermo-Tec material on both sides. Covering the entire area behind the fuel tank : Quiet Ride Solutions dampner pads and insulation have been installed. If this seems like overkill, remember, having cool fuel supplied to the engine significantly improves performance. With this set-up, you don't need to worry about filling a Kool Can with dry ice every time you want to go on a run. The fuel supply lines have been replaced with Russell steel braided lines and fittings. The supply and return lines [ along the original factory route within frame rail ] are additionally shielded from heat via a thermo sleeve. More information on this is in the mechanical section of this web site. A fuel tank carpet kit by the Truck Shop will finish off this detail rather nicely. |
