ORDER OF OPERATIONSThe reproduction firewall pads are secured by fasteners only no glue is used. The reason for this of course is that there might be an occasion where a dash mechanical bracket needs to be removed. This would prove difficult and very messy should the pads be mistakenly glued in. This means that the Quiet Ride Solutions material has to be fitted prior to securing the firewall pads in other words, the firewall pads are on-top of the insulation and not under it : this makes those pads accessible for removal without damaging the pads or the insulation. Additionally, because this vehicle is being converted to a floor shift automatic and bucket seats, the placement of these modifications, e.g., the holes for the shifter mechanical, need to be considered before placement of the Quiet Ride Solutions damper pads and insulation. There is no substitute for planning lay it out and pencil till you drop. Or said another way : measure twice and cut once. |
